Daily Allowances and Travel Expenses
Travel expenses and daily allowance grants are provided for participants in SHiFT networking events (Meetings, Conferences, Training events).
General principles
Following the Rules and Guidelines defined by COST ASSOCIATION, the Grant Awarding Process for any modality previously mentioned will be subject to the evaluation of the Management Committee, Grant Awarding Coordinator (Professor Fátima Alves) and Grant Evaluation Committee.
The selection process considers COST Excellence and Inclusiveness Policy and COST Principles of Openness and Inclusiveness, ensuring a transparent and open procedure.
Following the implementation of the COST Principle of Openness and Inclusiveness, SHIFT commits to promote openness to all (gender, disabilities, and others), to value diversity, to promote open science, including open access to the outputs of COST activities, notably through the dissemination of their results and outcomes, and shall ensure inclusiveness of target countries (ITC) as well as representation and empowering young researchers.
The participation on any of the Activities funded by COST must respect the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity, and its inherent values, as well as the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
The results from the activities funded by COST Action must respect the Open Access, including:
- Adherence to principles of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data sharing;
- Making any proceedings, material or other object of interest to which the Action contributed accessible to any interested third party;
- Maintaining openness concerning strategic and operational choices by the Action.
Cost activities and its participants shall safeguard confidentiality and privacy according to Privacy Policy.

The Grant Evaluating Committee will be able to review and approve/reject the Grant application on behalf of the MC. In case of rejection, a justification will be encoded.
Each application will be evaluated by the WG leader and co-leaders, taking into consideration the specific scientific criteria described for each call, and by the Grant Awarding Coordinator and co-coordinators abiding with COST Excellence and Inclusiveness Policy and COST Principles of Openness and Inclusiveness.
